December 2006 - PORT OF EGYPT MARINE IN SOUTHOLD ENDS 2006 WITH INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION, TOP INDUSTRY HONORS AND 10th GRADY-WHITE ADMIRAL'S CIRCLE AWARD
 |
Southold, NY -- December 31, 2006 -- Port of Egypt of Southold, the oldest and most-awarded Grady-White Boat dealership in the country, ended 2006 with some exciting industry certification, honors and training. The dealership once again was honored with membership in the prestigious Grady-White Boats Admiral's Circle for the model year 2006. Port of Egypt also met the high standards that come with being a certified a Marine Industry Certified Dealer and was also awarded as one of Boating Industry Magazine’s Top 100 Dealerships in the country this year. And, as Port of Egypt prides itself on expertise with its paricular boat lines, most notably Grady-White Boats, the entire sales team received a week of intense training with Grady-White in North Carolina just before the holidays.
The annual Top 100 Dealers list, of which Port of Egypt Marine was honored to join this year, is a ranking of an incredibly powerful group of marine dealers that generated more than $2.88 billion in retail sales, or nearly 8 percent of the entire $37 billion marine market. The ranking recognizes those marine dealers that are unsurpassed in overall business operations, customer service, marketing and professionalism. Collectively, the 2006 Boating Industry Top 100 employ more than 6,500 people and operate 357 retail locations across North America.
"While most industry awards are given to those dealers that sell the most boats, our Top 100 program is much more qualitatively focused," said Matt Gruhn, Editor-in-Chief of Boating Industry, "thereby leveling the playing field for all dealers and directing consumers to those dealers that can best deliver on the dream that boat ownership promises."
The Marine Industry Dealership Certification process features a set of standards for dealers to attain and provides tools that enable participants to enhance the retail experience and provide every customer with a positive retail experience, every time. Grady-White Admiral's Circle membership is reserved for those top dealerships in the Grady-White network that have achieved at least $2 million in retail sales for the model year, plus customer satisfaction index scores of at least 9.5 on a 10-point scale as rated in at least 10 actual customer surveys. This is the tenth year that Port of Egypt has earned the honor. Port of Egypt is a charter member of the Admiral's Circle.
"Port of Egypt is always moving forward," said Joey Weller, Grady's Director of Sales and Marketing. "Port of Egypt and its staff continue to meet and exceed the challenge of greatness presented by our company, and their product knowledge and service excellence contribute to the overall boating experience enjoyed by their customers."
Port of Egypt’s sale team’s recent, week-long and intense, Grady-White Boat training included in-water boat demonstrations and boat operations training on the open water in New Bern, NC, as well as a thorough review of all systems aboard Grady-White’s sportfishing and family boats—including the company’s newly-designed 30-foot Express 305 and 36-foot flagship Express 360. The event also included speakers and an in-depth tour of the Grady-White Boat manufacturing facility in Greenville, NC.
“It was quite a 60th Anniversary year for us,” noted Port of Egypt’s General Manager Will Lieblein. “We were honored yet again by our Grady-White Admiral’s Circle Membership, as well as our ranking as one of Boating Industry Magazine’s Top 100 Dealerships in the Country and our Marine Industry Certified Dealer certification. We certainly had a wonderful year of achievement. We also have an amazing sales staff that is committed to learning more about our product lines every day and servicing our customers with a standard that our family has upheld for over 60 years.”
Port of Egypt Marine, which is celebrating it’s 60th anniversary this year, has been owned and operated by the Lieblein family since William Lieblein Sr., and his brothers, Herb and Herman, first stumbled across the beautiful spot in 1946. Throughout the years, the company has earned a reputation for outstanding customer service by annually garnering top customer service and satisfaction awards from industry leading boat manufacturers such as Grady-White and Cobalt. In fact, in the past, Port of Egypt has been the number one Grady-White boat dealer in the country. And, in 1998, the marina hit a milestone with Grady-White by becoming the first and only dealer in the country to ever simultaneously garner the top sales and customer service awards. Port of Egypt is an authorized dealer of Grady-White and is also a Yamaha Flagship Dealer.
