Heron Suites is centrally located between the beautiful North Fork wineries and the historic Greenport village. The village of Greenport offers many dining options, entertainment, shopping and more. On the property itself, there is an on-site restaurant, fabulous seafood take-out, kayaking, bike rentals, boat rentals, and a solar heated pool.
Heron Suites overlooks the beautiful Peconic Bay and is just minutes from many local and sandy beaches. We provide Southold Town Beach Passes to our guests who would like to enjoy the area beaches.
The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is open weekends only after Labor Day through the last weekend of September.
Heron Suites does not have either of these on premise; however, you may inquire at the front desk about setting up an in-room massage and about discounted passes to the local fitness center.
We have a limited number of rooms that would allow a pet. Please specify when making your reservation that you will be bringing a pet so we can ensure that we have the appropriate room available for you.
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. Early check in is offered based on availability. Please inquire with the front desk for an early check in. If your room is not ready upon your arrival, you are welcome to use the premises (pool, waterfront lobby seating) until your room is prepared.
Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Late check-outs may be arranged based on availability for an additional charge. Please inquire with the front desk for a late check-out.

Yes, once a deposit and offer have been submitted and accepted, the next step is to have sea trial. Port of Egypt will have the boat launched and ready for a demo ride.
Yes, we do consider trade boats toward new boats and some pre-owned boats. When a boat is brokered (meaning we don't own it), we can not take a trade against that boat.
Yes, both new and used boats can be financed. The rate and duration of the loan vary from buyer to buyer based on credit, amount borrowed, and model year of the boat. But usually you can finance a boat for up to 20 years and you need to put at least 10% - 20% down.

A delivery demo is included with every boat sale. We will show you how the systems work on your boat and spend time giving docking lessons until you are comfortable doing it on your own. We feel that this demo is a highlight of the boat buying experience at Port of Egypt Marine.
We would be happy sell your boat for you. First thing you need to do is bring your boat out to us. Then we will take pictures of it and put a listing up on our website, yachtworld.com, boattrader.com and boats.com. It is the sellers responsibility to have the boat water ready. We take a 10% commission on all brokered boats.
The name Port of Egypt honors a reference to the property’s adjacent and sizeable sand bar. In the early 1900s, it was said to resemble a desert by a local schoolteacher inspiring students of places afar. That teacher was the father of one of the property’s past owners, Philip Dickinson, who in 1932 operated a boat rental station under the name. The Lieblein family reinstated the moniker in 1946 when they took over what had become Captain Reiter’s fishing station and rebranded the property Port of Egypt.
The fuel docks are open from 5:30 am until 6:00 pm. They can be self serve if you use a credit card. Cash may only be used during regular business hours. We have gas and diesel. Pricing as of Sept. 1, 2011 is $4.65/per gallon for 89 octane gas.
Included with all new and used boat sales we offer instruction and docking lessons to our customers. For those looking for additional lessons on their vessel, we have a captain who can give instructions at a per hour fee. Please call the office for details.
A Lure has designated docking slips in our East Canal. Look for their sign just past the Eagle's Neck Paddling shop. If you are docking here to visit an attraction not on our property, please pull in to our fuel dock and come in to the office and we will direct you to an empty slip. The fee is $25. Additional fees apply for extended stays.
